This privacy policy applies only to our online activities and is valid for visitors to our website with regards to the information that they shared and/or collect in www.iascouncil.com. This policy is not applicable to any information collected offline or via channels other than this website.

Indo-American Student Council ("we," "us," or "our") enables users to explore the process of studying overseas, along with the visa application process. Through our recruitment partners, counsellors, and our website, we also provide the opportunity to apply for admission to certain programs at certain universities, as well as access supplemental services and products connected to the international student journey (collectively, the "Services").

Indo-American Student Council collects your personal information to do so. This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how Indo-American Student Council collects, uses, discloses, and maintains personal information.

The modifications to this Policy take effect on the above-mentioned date, and your continuing use of Indo-American Student Council’s services and/or website after that date will be governed by our revised Policy.

Consent

By using our website, you hereby consent to our Privacy Policy and agree to its terms. Our Policy has been designed and created to ensure those affiliated with Indo-American Student Council of our commitment and realization of our obligation not only to meet, but to exceed, most existing privacy standards.

What Information do we collect?

It is always your decision whether to provide us with personally identifiable information, but if you do not, we reserve the right to refuse to register you as a user or to provide you with any products or services. Your engagement with our website and services determines the types of personal data we collect about you. We may also need to acquire sensitive personal data in specific instances, such as assisting your application process to schools of interest (e.g., personal information revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, generic or biometric data, health information). If we need to collect any sensitive data about you, we will obtain your explicit consent as required by data protection legislation. The personal data we gather is only shared with Indo-American Student Council and our third-party service providers serving as data processors for the purpose of providing the Services you have requested; it is not shared or used by us for any other purpose.

Why we Collect Your Information and For How Long shall the information be stored?

We shall be collecting your information for several reasons:

  • To better understand your needs and provide you with the services you have requested.
  • To fulfill our legitimate interest in improving our services and products.
  • To send you promotional emails containing information we think you may like when we have your consent to do so.
  • To contact you to fill out surveys or participate in other types of market research when we have your consent to do so.
  • To customize our website according to your online behavior and personal preferences.

The data we collect from you will be stored for no longer than necessary. The length of time we retain said information will be determined based upon the following criteria:

How and why do we need to share your information?

Indo-American Student Council does not sell, rent, or lease any of its customer lists or names to any third parties now or in the future.

Personal information may be collected and used by Indo-American Student Council to aid in the functioning of our website and to assure delivery of the services you need and desire. We may deem it necessary to use personally identifiable information to keep you aware of additional possible products and/or services available from www.iascouncil.com at times.

Indo-American Student Council may also contact you in the future to ask you to participate in surveys and/or research questionnaires about your impressions on current or potential future services.

Indo-American Student Council may, from periodically, feel compelled to contact you on behalf of our other external business partners regarding a potential new offer that may be of interest to you. If you consent or show interest in the presented offers, specific identifiable information, such as your name, email address, and/or phone number, may be shared with the third party at that time. Indo-American Student Council may find it beneficial to all our customers to share specific data with our trusted partners to conduct statistical analysis, send you email and/or postal mail, provide support, and/or arrange for deliveries. Schools The information in your application is shared with the schools to which you are applying (either directly or through a third party on your behalf, to schools/universities/colleges abroad). Once Indo-American Student Council has provided your information to these schools as part of your admissions application, Indo-American Student Council has no control over how such information is used by these schools and recommends that you contact them directly if you have any questions about how your personal data is treated.
Service Providers We may transfer (or otherwise make available) your personal data to third parties who provide services on our behalf. For example, we may use service providers such as cloud providers to send our emails, host the Website and data (including cloud providers) and operate certain of its features. Other service providers may assist us with the provision of the services, help us verify your identity, prevent, detect, and protect against fraudulent activity or abuse of our services, conduct internal research and analytical assessments, process your transactions, maintain your account(s) and provide you with customer care services. These service providers include internet service providers, data and cyber security services, banks, financial institutions, payment processors, financial services providers, remote access services, service providers that help us verify your identity and help us comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, and our business, legal, tax, financial and other advisors, on a confidential basis. Your personal data may be maintained and processed by third party service providers in other countries. Our service providers are given the information they need to perform their designated functions, and we do not authorize them to use or disclose personal data for their own marketing or other purposes.
Parties to and those involved in a business We may transfer whatever information we have about you as an asset in connection with a proposed or completed merger or sale
transaction with Indo-American Student Council involving all or part of Indo-American Student Council, or as part of a corporate reorganization or other change in corporate control (including transfers made as part of insolvency or bankruptcy proceedings).
Researchers Indo-American Student Council utilizes your data for internal research and development to enhance our present products and services and/or develop new features to better serve you, with your consent. Non-personal data ("Metadata") is also used by the Indo-American Student Council for this purpose. We may share your personal data with third parties involved in research and development with your permission in attempt to improve our existing products and services and/or develop new features to better serve you. Educational institutions, academics, and others in related fields are examples of third parties.
Lawyers, courts and law enforcement The Indo-American Student Council and other service providers may disclose your personal information in response to a search warrant or other legally valid inquiry or order, or to an organization in the event of a breach of contract or law violation, or as otherwise required or permitted by applicable law. Personal data may also be disclosed if it is required for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims, the detection, suppression, or prevention of fraud, or the investigation or prevention of actual or alleged loss or harm to persons or property. We may be obliged to contact you directly for legal, regulatory, and/or compliance purposes if you have engaged a recruitment partner or counsellor to submit your application to Indo-American Student Council.
